Miles and Smiles
We absolutely love our Home Reserve sectional! But not for the reasons you may think…
We are @milesandsmiles.rv, a recently retired military family of six, and we just ditched our sticks and bricks home, packed up only the essentials, and moved into our RV for full-time travel! After serving our country for 20 years, we decided to finally get out and SEE it. We are taking back all the time we lost through deployments and separations and choosing to live life at a different pace with a different purpose.

And while we made the decision to leave our 2700SF house, we still wanted our new tiny space to feel like a home. That most certainly required a remodel…who doesn’t love a good before and after?!
This was our second RV remodel, but the first one we’d be living in. The considerations for what we needed for full-time living vs casual camper use were certainly factors when making design and remodel decisions.
One of the first things we do in our remodels is replace all the “RV” furniture. It’s dated, ugly and while it looks big, it’s NOT comfortable, at all. We wanted a residential couch, which we had done before, but this time we wanted it to also be functional for us and our new lifestyle.
Items on our list of “wants” for the new couch included: something attractive enough to be in a house, performance fabric, easy to wipe/wash, big enough for the whole family, comfortable enough for lounging, but firm enough to double as a bench seat for dining, and an option for STORAGE.

That’s a lot of specifics, but our Tux Deep Seat Sectional from Home Reserve checked every box. We love the look of it, it fits seamlessly into our aesthetic. True story I spilled some wine on it the other day and it wiped right off! But if we need to, every piece of fabric on the couch can come off and go straight into the wash. Our whole family can snuggle and watch movies, it’s soooo comfy and has more room than we even had at home. We also DO use it with a round table for meals, where two of us can sit at the couch like a bench, which makes it very versatile for our small space.
But best of all is the STORAGE. We packed very minimally considering we moved our entire lives into this small space, but we have a lot of people and a lot of items to store! It has been a dream being able to put everything into a place. We are currently storing games, vacuum attachments, baby diapers and wipes, our outdoor movie screen and related items and outdoor blankets all inside of our couch!

Home Reserve was also kind enough to send us their new storage liners. Obsessed! They make the storage space look so clean, and I especially love them for the compartments where I have the diapers and blankets because it keeps the wood particles from sticking to those items.
We truly, truly love this couch. It’s been everything we needed and exceeded our expectations in comfort and durability.

If you are shopping for a couch, whether it be for your home on dirt or your home on wheels, we highly recommend the sectionals from Home Reserve. And one more bonus for our fellow RVers: replacing our stock couch with the Home Reserve couch saved us 118lbs in cargo weight! WIN, WIN, WIN!
