I had researched sectionals for a very long time. I had made 3 previous HUGE mistakes with sectionals. The fabric was completely NOT family or pet friendly. And my stress level was through the roof. Thankfully, those situations were resolved amicably and I was able to purchase a Home Reserve sectional. First of all, I am a 60 year old woman, who is in fairly good shape and pretty strong but, I was assembling this sectional by myself. This was a daunting task to say the least (even the UPS driver, who was kind enough to bring all 7 boxes into my house for me, thought I was nuts)! It took me 14 hours, over 3 days to put all 7 pieces together. The directions were straight forward and easy to follow, everything was clearly labeled and it took a minimal amount of tools to put together. It is just labor intensive (for me, anyway). But the results were incredible. The material is truly family and pet friendly. My daughter's dog drools and it dries white (gross, I know). With the other sectionals, those stains were totally unmanageable. No matter what I did, they remained. With the Home Reserve fabric, they come RIGHT OFF with a damp cloth. My dogs are also shedders. White fur. Navy blue fabric. Bad combo. But for some reason the pet hair is much less noticeable on this fabric than on my previous sectionals (I still use a pet vac on the sectional every day, sometimes twice a day, not because it looks bad, but because I'm a clean freak)! The sectional is very sturdy, comfy and stylish & if I didn't tell someone I had put it together, they would never know. I am so happy with it & highly recommend this company & their product to anyone who wants a sofa that can take family & pet day to day abuse, that cleans fantastically (the fabric I purchased can also be machine washed), has an amazing warranty & a customer service department who is helpful, knowledgeable and truly feels that the customer is always right, this is the place for you. Just be aware that it's hard work. But it's so worth it. There is only one suggestion/critique I have for Home Reserve and that would be that they put those great utility gloves on the top of the wood so you can put them on BEFORE you unpack the wood pieces. So at first it was the Chair and a Half and the Ottoman - See Comment #2588, August 21, 2019 -The Arnolds - Chesapeake, VA - Then it was the sectional - and at that point I thought it couldnt get any better! The sectional is JUST RIGHT - and for the past 3 months my mastiffs and I have ALL been on it at the same time, moving the ottoman over from the Chair and Half made a PERFECT size. I had insomnia for a while, but not after spending an evening trying to stay awake binging on Downton Abbey in THIS piece of furniture! One of the features I like most about the design is that the arms are large enough to accomodate small plates and glasses, so I have a bit of a built in end table without having to have one! The pillows are firm, but not overly so, the cushions are very supporting, but not enough to feel stiff. The fabric - retriever - is DIVINE!
Hubby came home on the 18th - and fell in love with the whole setup! He wasnt home 48 hours and he was suggesting we might want to e x p a n d a bit! WAHOOOO!!!!
