Jenny and I just finished putting together a little PDF guide on how to get started with a room design. Sometimes the hardest part is simply getting started! We’re also at work right now on more videos to show how Home Reserve can help with your project.

With summer in full bloom, there are a lot of you out there enjoying it. I posted a bit about RV’s and now it’s time to share a story about boats. We have several Home Reservers who have boats that have salons (that is a room below deck for us non-boaters). They have the challenge of finding furniture that will fit through the hold (door) and still be comfy. Then there is the lay out of the floor. On a boat there is a limited amount of space and you have to be able to get to engine compartments. Well we fit the bill perfectly as you can see in the pictures below from Nancy who wrote:
“These chairs are in the salon of a 32′ Marinette and were put together (one at a time) on the boat. I covered the cushion top of the wicker storage trunk with the same fabric. So comfortable!”

We have been looking high and low for just the right white fabric. It’s really hard because it has to meet our standards. Not just any old white fabric will do. Well Casey , Jen, and Scott have out done themselves this time. Not only did they find a durable white, but it is textured too! That gives it true dimension. It’s called Eureka Bleached Natural. (I think that’s what they said when they found it…Eureka!) any way here is is in the Bay Sofa. Isn’t that a clean look?
(Note-white often looks really bad on computer monitors. You can see the texture on the little swatch next to the furniture below, but I would recommend getting a fabric sample so you can see the true beauty of this fabric.)

I have great news for all of you who have been waiting for “purple” fabric.
Casey, Jen and Scott have searched to get just the right fabric and they have it now.
Montego Aubergine
A thick rugged fabric, like a frieze, that will hide any signs of heavy use. And, it comes in deep, penetrated colors. It’s easy to stare at this pattern because the texture and shading is plush and interesting. And best of all it’s a Microfiber. The pattern has a smooth deep hand. Machine washable: cold/gentle cycle, spin dry, put the fabrics back on while still damp. 100% Nylon.
It’s been said that purple is the color of Royalty, and you will definitely feel like a King or Queen on this sofa!

Wow, we had an interesting visit today. I looked out the window and there was this HUGE motor home sitting in the parking lot. The owners stepped out and walked over to our factory! They had seen our web site and were excited that our furniture might be perfect for their motor home make over. [They've been on the road six years!] I gave Jon and Donna a tour of our factory, gave them some fabric samples and they took them over to their “home” to see which ones matched their color scheme. When they found just the right color, ( a few minutes later) they came back in and placed the order. While they waited, they shared stories of some of the beautiful places they’ve traveled since they retired and have moved permanently into their adventure home on wheels. After a short stay with us, they had their new loveseat and were packed up and heading off for more adventure on the open road Happy Trails!

Sandy here…
….When I came in today I wasn’t sure if I was in the right place, it looked more like a photo studio than an office! Jen and Casey have been busy “creating” more of those awesome pictures for our web site. You wouldn’t believe all the planning that goes into each set.
Some of the sets even have fresh flowers and fruit! As I was about to go out at noon, there was a fresh melon cut on one of our designer cube tables and being used as a color accent item. It looked so good I almost had it for lunch! Can you imagine going shopping at the grocery store in order to create a furniture photo set? You never know what those two will come up with, but the end result is awesome.
Here is a sneak peek of what I’ve been seeing… (don’t tell Casey and Jen). It’s our new LaPaz fabric in the coffee color.

In a recent post, I mentioned we were experimenting with a new fabric, a material that was 100% leather on the backing and a bonded polyurethane on the facing. This gives the feel and look of real leather but at a much lower cost. We’ve decided to move ahead with the project because it looks awesome! It will be available in three colors. I took a spy photograph (read “bad photo”) of it on our Laney chair and chair and a half.

Even though I’m the co-founder of Home Reserve, I still get excited when we get new furniture for the house. My wife and I just set up this Laney Style Home Reserve sectional in our living room last night. We decided to go very bright….had Casey & Jenny use bold, light colors. The fabric for the sectional is Hyatt Vanilla, (a washable microfiber so we thought the light color would be alright with the grand kids and all). We’re just like new customers today…enjoying our new furniture and looking forward to relaxing in the sectional “cozy corner.”

Casey & Jen have been photographing some of our furniture styles in a new leather type fabric. The back of the fabric actually is 100% cow hide leather, and the front of the fabric has a bonded polyurethane surface. It actually even smells of leather. It’s strikingly beautiful. We should have photo’s up soon and expect that this product will be available by July. We plan on offering it in three colors: the classic black, burgundy and brown.

As many of our web site visitors know, our factory is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Just this last Monday, the local paper ran a story on our fifth patent award. Here’s the link.
The patent has to do the engineering of our wood parts on the sectional corner.

A lot of work goes into making our items simple to assemble. It was difficult to make a corner using wood parts that were not cut on an angle and the solution was unique enough to get a patent! Here’s the link to the US Patent Office information on our patent.
